Tarot Cards are a set of 78 cards like the ‘ Regular Playing Cards’ in shape but bigger in size. However each of the cards carry very rich visuals. When these cards are viewed very closely and in a concentrated fashion, they kindle deep emotions and insight inside the mind of the Tarot Reader, connecting your life –lots on everyday plane and with the realms of the soul.

Tarot Cards, that started over 700 years ago in Egypt on the banks of river Nile, is an ancient “Occult – Mystical – System” that provides you the valuable guidance while taking critical decisions of life like – Marriage, Relationships, Career, Business, Children, Education & many more.

The Tarot Deck comprised of 78 cards are broadly segregated into-

Major Arcana  22 cards
Minor Arcana 40 cards
Court cards  16 cards, Total- 78 cards

Major Arcana :

The 22 cards of Major Arcana are frequently used alone for divination since they are the archetypal symbols of human experience. They can also be considered as the stages of a journey and awareness.

The 22 cards also contain cards such as- Death, Devil, Tower of Destruction etc. Please don’t ever get scared by these. For example – Death can mean, death of a certain phase- good or bad, Death of a relationship and so on. It certainly does not mean, the death of a person. Similar can be the connotation for “Tower of Destruction”.
Each of these cards affords a certain inference in isolation and a certain interpretations, when they appear adjacent to certain other cards, in the spread.

Minor Arcana :

This is divided in 4 suits (very strangely like our regular playing cards as - Diamonds, Hearts, spades and clubs).

Here they are segregated as –

Type   Representing the   different strata of society
Swords Aristocracy
Cups or Chalices  Clergy & Monastic Orders
Pentacles or Coins Merchants
Wands or Batons Peasants

Each of these types, ranges from Ace (or) One to Ten. Thus there are 40 cards, in this section.

Court Cards :
In regular playing cards there are 13 cards per suit. Here there are 14 cards per suit. The first 10 appear as Minor Arcana, detailed above.

The balance 4 cards per suit are made up of –

The Page; The Knight; The Queen & The King

Thus there are 4 court cards per suit or 16 Court Cards overall.
